So I'm pretty sure if you read my blog we're probably close enough that you know Koen was born.
And you probably heard his big entrance story, so the short-short version is that after a day and a night of very irregular, spaced-out contractions, I jumped out of bed from a light sleep because of an intense contraction, then suddenly thought I needed to use the bathroom. On the toilet I had the notion that perhaps this was not what I first thought, and sure enough I could feel the top of a head. A shout to Dave, a dash for the cell phone and an order to "Get in the tub!" A quick clearing away of bath toys, one more contraction and there was the baby! Teeny, tiny little baby who immediately started wailing and was perfectly fine! And to my amazement, so was I, despite my resolve to get an epidural ASAP with this birth. I only just barely hurt a little for just a tiny second! How awesome!
OK, maybe that wasn't exactly the short SHORT version. But if you want the loooong, gory version I can email you a copy of what I wrote out after settling down in the hospital. Believe me, you probably don't want to know me THAT intimately, though ;)
We had a fun ambulance ride to the hospital and useless one-night stay until I realized the staff was more annoying than helpful, and we were both fine so we went home and I finished cleaning the bathroom :) (Granted, Dave removed the goop from the tub and did some clean up, but he didn't wipe the bloody footprints off the floor or disinfect or throw away the emergency paraphernalia.) And thus began life with baby #4!
It took us 6 days to settle on a name, which I'm still kinda doubting but nothing else popped out as THE NAME so we're sticking with it - Koen Dawson. He's been a great little guy. He's chunked up rather nicely, weighing an approximate 13 pounds at 2.5 months old. He sleeps pretty good, poops a ton, nurses like a champ and doesn't cause much fuss or trouble. We all adore him and life is good! He has infiltrated the family smoothly and completely and we can't remember what it was like without him. Pics in a bit.

You are a champion! I love that story! That has to be one of the best birthing stories of all time! I would like to have one of those cool birthing experiences as long as the pain is minimal like yours.
