Blogger slacker

It has been oh-so-long since I posted. I like to blog, but how does one find the time?? I have to transfer pictures from the camera, choose the ones to post, try to think of something funny to say ... man, I just can't do it! But anyway, here is just a quick update on us.

Davin approached me like this one day. I thought it was funny. The kid knows how to get what he wants, without words.

Ice cream for three, please. We made a trip to IKEA again and tried out the snack bar instead of the puke-producing swedish meatballs this time. We like the cinnamon rolls ... and obviously the ice cream. I actually got some great shots of tongues but decided not to post them all because something just felt wrong about it :)

We made a trip to the Thanksgiving Point Farm Country one Tuesday. It was insanely busy. We waited in line for an hour for a 3-minute pony ride. Never again. I don't really like this place.

Erg, Caden's so mad. He's in jail because he tickled his sister to death :)

Davin and Tessa danced in the dance hall for quite a while and had a blast.

Our street has been undergoing construction since Memorial day. The crews finally arrived in front of our house this week. It was fascinating, as you can see. When they left for the night we went out and picked up rocks and checked out the machines. It was pretty cool, except for those few cars who still thought they should try to squeeze past. Freaked me right out.

Caden and Tessa took swimming lessons for one session in July. Caden has made a complete turnaround and is now totally confident in the water, not afraid to put his face in or anything! He's become out little fish and enjoys diving and sneaking up on us under the water. It's so great to see the progress! Last year he would leave his swimming lesson with dry hair every time :)
Tessa was certainly less committed to swimming excellence, but still did a good job.
Playing "Animals in the basket," which she loved.
Finally, two big packages of homeschooling materials arrived! Hooray! We were so excited. Tessa was pretty mad that none of it was for her, but I assured her I had things for her and we'd share! We've been homeschooling about two weeks now, and it's been really great so far! Davin's a little difficult so we mostly do it during naptime. We love it, and Tessa is happy to see that she can be included. She does the reading and writing with us, and can actually do most of the math already, too. The math is too easy for Caden so we're just doing the assessments at the ends of the lessons and going over those few concepts he hasn't been exposed to, like tallying and graphs. Then we'll move on to 1st grade stuff. So fun to watch them learn! I am loving it.
