I knew I was a whale

So I had a doctor's appointment today, and they measured my uterus. The nurse had a hard time finding the fundus (nice word for "top of the uterus," huh?) and finally said it was measuring 26 cm, which means 26 weeks along, but I'm only 23. Then the doctor measured to double check and was like, "Hm, I'm getting 32." He checked the charts then measured again and said, "I could maybe give it 31, but that's it." He said if I hadn't already had 2 ultrasounds then he would double check to see if I was having triplets.

NICE!!!! Thanks. So. Much.

I have been telling people that I think my belly is already huge -- as big as it was at 8+ months for the other kids. Now it's officially confirmed! (I measured right on schedule for each of them -- if I was 32 weeks along, I measured 32.) Since the ultrasounds have confirmed my due date, he said it could possibly be fluid retention or it could be uterine fibroids, which are growths. He said if I don't settle down in growth next month they'll check me out for fibroids.

That really doesn't make me nervous. I'm mostly happy that I have not been imagining it all -- I really am huge! Funny. Saying that has never made me feel better in the past ... :-P
