Learning Logs: Week 19

We started our new semester at our co-op and it was very fun! We got into a better post-Christmas rhythm and most of us are over our sickness, so things are a little smoother. Everyone has been working on similar things and our outline of the week includes everyone in the descriptions below.
For math, we have been working on some of the math and logic games we got for Christmas. They all love playing Mastermind, Keva Brain Builders kits, Swipe, Labyrinth and a few others. We also got a Montessori multiplication and division set, and that has been great fun to work with and see the concrete application of the problems we work on. Such good stuff. We also are working on math pages in our various programs.
We enjoy our poetry study time the most during language arts, so we focused on that this week as we got back into the swing. Also reading their personal books.
We have been reading Horrible History’s USA history book and we have been reenacting Jamestown with the Toob figures we got for Christmas. We have been learning about magic tricks (illusions as well as chemistry magic) for science as a result of some Christmas gifts given.
Piano lessons have resumed and it has been really fun to start back up again. We love our fun group lessons and our teacher is top-notch.
Tech classes have not been resumed yet this week
Thanks!
