Koen: For math I played Sum Swamp lots of times and played math spies in our co-op class where we figured out codes. Also my math book. I did reading lessons with my mom and can read words like dog, dad, mom, the, I, to, in, it, also, resurrected, righteousness, grandma, and other words like that. I am listening to Gifted Hands and Eragon. In history we talk about the constitution and learn about part of it. We also do ancient history in a group and we learned about the Turkey Empire. In piano I am reading notes and remembering fingering and all the keys on the keyboard. My teacher's husband is sick and going to die so we are getting a new teacher next week.
Caden: In Teaching Textbooks I am learning about divisibility rules (like the last number is even if it can be divided by 2). I've been reading Gregor the Overlander and The True Meaning of Smekday and listening to Eragon. I actually didn't get to most of my other language arts work done this week so I will be catching up on grammar and poetry. In history we learned about the Turkish Empire and I learned the first king banned all religion except Christianity. We are also doing our constitution worksheets and videos. For my tech classes I did the pictures below in Photoshop class and I really like them. +121 is a really good shade of green.
I also did my coding class and finished my Pong game. Next is "Fish" kinda Agari.o. In piano I'm learning what is left of Fur Elise.
Davin: For math I am learning things like how many ounces are in a quart, hours in a day, days in a year, etc. This year is leap year so there is 366 days. For language arts I am working on my Prince story, reading Dragon Breath and The 13th Princess, and Gifted Hands. I am doing some handwriting practice and using the computer to email friends which is practicing my spelling because it tells me where I made mistakes and I have to fix it. For science I worked with out science kit to go along with math with measuring different quantities. We also talked about seed germination because we are starting some seeds. I had my piano "celebration" recital and we played from pages 10-29. My favorites were Blue Sky, Disco Ball, Hoe Down and Hush Little Baby. For history we learned about Turkey and also did a review of the different places we have studied like Australia, Rome and Asia.I went back and did some Scratch stuff this week to count for tech class.
Tessa: In math I'm reviewing long division. In language arts I read the 13th Princess and I'm reading the Magic Cake Shop. I read the Othello tales from Shakespeare for kids. For history we learned about France and why it's named France (because the guy who discovered it had France in his name). We are also studying more about the constitution and watching videos about it. In piano I'm polishing Thunder on the Plains and got Beauty and the Beast as my next memorization song. I am behind in tech class, except I am running my businesses and got some extra work this week walking dogs. We are trying to think of another business we can do to make a lot more money than we currently are. We are thinking of baking Monday night treats.
