More happenin's

In the last few weeks, both Caden and Tessa have made leaps and bounds in their reading and writing abilities.

Tessa can now write pretty well most of her letters (though her Ws are always Ms), and she knows the sounds of each letter. She spends all day filling up pages with letters and shrieking, "I writed my name!" It's very fun.

Caden seems to have suddenly caught up on all I've been trying to get him to do for the past year or so. He knows all his letter sounds and is reading with increasing speed. He even figured out "sh" on his own recently. As we drive pass signs he will often surprise us by reading them out loud, and sometimes on TV he'll yell out a word that flashes on the screen.

It's so, so fun to seem them in this stage! I love it! I love it so much that I was thrilled to find that Caden had written on his legs this weekend. Who can complain when they're writing real words? When we discovered this he said, "It's just that I'm a big fan of P-I-G."

A few weeks ago we went fishing on a Friday night, but didn't catch anything. After putting the kids to bed, Dave went back out to prove his manhood and caught this little beauty. The best part is noticing where the worm is :)

Davin was having so much fun one day taking drinks and letting all the water spill out of his mouth. He was splitting a gut every time. I had to take a picture of the merriment.

Caden and Davin decided to do some "teamwork". So Davin took every single pot and pan out of the cupboard, and Caden put them on the counter. Wow, such teamwork.

I see nothing wrong here.

Uncle Steve's birthday was June 29 and they came over for dinner. We made him this cake. The html may not be perfect, but it DOES work! (You'd never believe how long it took me to figure out :))
